BARDON CONCRETE MAKES A STAND

Tilbury Dock, the first purpose-built container dedicated terminal in the UK and one of the largest specialist reefer handling terminals in Europe, has begun working with Bardon Concrete South East to create a new hard stand area for use when unloading containers and mobile cranes for inspection.

Working with Dean & Dyball Construction, Bardon Concrete has supplied over 1500m³, the equivalent of 30 average storage containers, of high-strength steel fibre concrete to the terminal on the Thames in order to construct the hard stand.

Due for completion this month, the stand will help to increase the capacity of the terminal to in excess of 600,000 TEU (Twenty-foot container Equivalent Units).
