BARDON CONCRETE’S LEEDS PLANT GETS A FACELIFT… AND WINS NEW CONTRACTS
Following Bardon Concrete’s acquisition of National Minimix Leeds, and a complete refurbishment of its plant at Cross Green Industrial Estate to bring it in line with parent company Aggregate Industries’ high standards of quality, health and safety, a series of major contracts have been secured.
Refurbishment work was carried out by the plant’s team whilst keeping this busy delivery plant operational and able to service Bardon Concrete North’s customers in West Yorkshire. Improvements include the installation of a silo protection system, a new water system and the addition of a truck-fill facility.
Substantial civil work was carried out around the site to allow water to be recycled. An 8 cubic metre and 6 cubic metre truck and two 4 cubic metre Minimix trucks are operated on behalf of Bardon Concrete Leeds by franchisees.
Steve White, Bardon Concrete’s area operations manager, says: “In addition to these improvements we have installed equipment to produce special products such as anhydrite screed, which gives us access to a new market in Leeds and further strengthens our foothold in the West Yorkshire urban market.”
The facelift appear to be paying off, having just supplied 3,500 cubic metres of standard ready-mixed concrete to jobs in Leeds and Colton and with others taking advantage of the new anhydrite screed offering. |
