BARDON CONCRETE HANDS OVER THE QUAYS TO
SALFORD
Bardon Concrete has completed an eight-month project at Salford Quays
in Manchester to supply high quality specification concrete to construct
the new city lofts development near the Lowry Centre.
Consisting of over 200 apartments and occupying an outstanding location
close to the city, the ongoing development of Salford Quays has transformed
the waterside area into a world-class cultural and residential hub.
With plants located across the country, Bardon Concrete was ideally
placed to supply more than 7,000 cubic metres of concrete, equal to 26
tennis courts, over the eight-month project.
Gary Brennand, Bardon Concrete’s Business Manager for Greater
Manchester says: “It was important that the right company was selected
due to the timescale of the project and the amount of product needed.
Over the duration of the build we poured in excess of 200 metres of concrete
a day for the floor slabs and in excess of 50 cubic metres per day of
Slip Form Concrete, which consequently meant the build was completed before
schedule.”
