NEW CONCRETE PRODUCT REQUIRES NO VIBRATION WHEN LAYING

Bardon Concrete has launched a new high quality product that offers many features over conventional concrete and screed products. Named Cemflow, the product uses self-compacting technology to eliminate the necessary vibration methods when laying traditional concrete products, offering a number of health and safety benefits, as well as a reduction in local noise and pollution.

Cemflow is also easier to lay and gives a better finish than normal concrete. Available in standard and screed versions, it is ideal for a range of applications such as slabs, flooring, walls, columns and foundations. It will be positioned at a slightly higher price than conventional concrete, due to the added benefits.

Says Darren Williams, special products manager, Bardon Concrete, “This is a fantastic product and there’s already been a lot of interest. Nottingham University has laid 20,000 m2 of Cemflow for a new accommodation block, while the new Rope Walk shopping centre in Nuneaton is also being constructed with Cemflow.”

Because Cemflow uses new technologies, it is currently produced at specially-adapted plants. It is available from six selected sites across the Bardon southern region, and it is expected to be offered from a similar number in the northern region from early 2006. Additionally, all new Bardon Concrete plants constructed in the future will include the new machinery, allowing them to offer Cemflow as part of their range and increase its availability.
